On the Ice

For many of us ice skating is something we do once a year if that but, for sophomore Aysa Streeval it is a daily activity. She spends a lot of her time outside of school at Hamilton Ice Rink doing what she loves.

“I am at the rink every day before school and after school for about an hour and a half,” Streeval said.

Since Streeval spends a lot of time at the rink she has made a lot of friends from all different skill levels and ages.

“Everyone is really supportive of each other. All skill levels are accepted and encouraged,” Streeval said.

Streeval uses her time on the ice as a time to forget about everything else going on in her life. When she is on the ice nothing around her matters.

“I really enjoy the time I spend on the ice because it helps me to de-stress,” Streeval said.

If you are interested in being a part of this amazing sport, don’t hesitate to reach out to any of the skaters from Hamilton Ice Rink. Even if you just wanna watch, you can attend their annual ice show in April.

“At the end of April, we have our annual ice show which is a fundraiser for the rink. Coming to that always benefits the club a lot,” Streeval said.
