VARSITY
For the annual homecoming game on Sept. 25, Columbus North played Terre Haute North, and came out on top with a score of 41-21.
“The atmosphere of the team was different, we competed with each other during every play,” senior Nate Austerman said.
The team is gearing up for conference, Austerman said.
“If we play hard and practice even harder, we could win conference Indiana,” Austerman said. “We haven’t won our conference in two years; it’s time to get that back.”
This week, Varsity will take on Bloomington South away on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
JUNIOR VARSITY
On Sept. 26, the Bull Dogs challenged Lafayette Jefferson High school at North. The final score was 26-16, with North taking the win.
Junior Brady Thomas said the team was ‘skeptical, but ended up pulling through.’
According to Thomas, the team continues to improve every day.
“I think we just need to focus on consistency and getting all the little things down,” Thomas said. “Once we get everything down, we’ll be hard to stop.”
Thomas also said that the team seems confident in their abilities about the rest of the season.
“When we work together, we work really well,” Thomas said.
Next, junior varsity will take on Bloomington South High school at home on Oct. 3 at 10 a.m.
