Women’s Golf Competes For State Title

As Fall starts to come around, women’s golf starts to come to an end, but not until the golfers compete in state. For two days in a row, women’s golf will be competing to win the state title.

“I think we will definitely have the potential to win,”senior Holly Anderson said. “There will be some tough competition, but I know we have a chance of at least placing top 3.”

Besides chance, the weather will be in the golf players’ favor compared to the not-so-good climate last year as told by freshman Alexandria Munnicha.

“I feel like we’re going to do pretty well because last year I know the weather wasn’t the best,” said Munnicha. “This year it’s supposed to be better so I’m expecting all of us to do better.”

As for seniors like Holly, also, ranked second on the team, the state competition will mean so much more since it will be their last match for North. Because it is their last chance to leave behind their mark, they have goals for State and have long been preparing for them.

“My number one goal is to place top 10, be all state,” said Anderson. “We have been preparing with all our nine hole matches and tournaments we have played in.”

With all the hard work and great optimism, the women’s  golf team seems to be ready more than ever for state tomorrow and Saturday.

The state tournament will be at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana.
