- Elf(2003)
- Elf has to be at the top of my Holiday Christmas favorites; you can’t have a Christmas season without watching Buddy the elf pour syrup on spaghetti. This movie takes an original spin on the magic of the North Pole, and Buddy just makes it all the more spectacular.
- Home Alone(1990)
- “I made my family disappear.” Home Alone is an iconic movie that is a must watch every Christmas season; you can watch Kevin chase Marv and Harry out of his home with all of his traps.
- Santa Clause(1994)-
- This comical new take on the magic of Santa Claus is a wonderful addition to the must-watch list. When Scott Calvin kills Santa, and puts on the suit, making him the new Santa Clause, we get to follow his journey of discovery as he learns to be the Santa everyone dreams of on Christmas eve night.
- Christmas Vacation(1989)-
- “I don’t know what to say except it’s Christmas and we’re all in misery!” This line can’t be more reversed when watching this film; Clark Griswald and Cousin Eddie bring so much joy to the Christmas season.
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas(2000)-
- “Maybe Christmas, the Grinch thought, doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.” How the Grinch stole Christmas should be a must watch on everyone’s list. Cindy Lou Who warms our hearts with her discovery of the true meaning of Christmas; It’s more than just gifts.
- A Christmas Carol (2009)-
- A Christmas Carol is a timeless tale about finding your Christmas spirit. Scrooge visits the past, present, and future Christmas’ with the help of three ghosts in order to help him find his Christmas spirit.
- It’s a Wonderful Life(1946)
- It really is a wonderful life, and this film really brings out that holiday joy whether you’re watching in black in white or color. George Bailey really exemplifies that you don’t realize the gifts you have and the impact you create until you don’t have that anymore.
- A Christmas Story(1983)-
- “You’ll shoot your eye out! You’ll shoot your eyes out!” A Christmas Story is a must watch movie before the 25 of December. Enjoying Ralphie’s quest for a red Ryder BB gun and watching the Old Man marvel over his fragile leg lamp is the highlight of my holiday season.
- The Grinch(2018)-
- The modern animation Grinch is a fun remake of the classic movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This comedic movie is a must watch every Christmas, and brings a lot of laughs to the season as well.
- The Christmas Chronicles(2018)-
- The Christmas Chronicles is a wonderful movie about family and coming together. Kate’s a true believer and Teddy is a troubled teen, and when their mom has to work, they have to spend Christmas all alone. They meet Santa and everything goes wrong, and when Santa’s time runs out to deliver presents, Teddy and Kate have to help!
- The Polar Express(2004)-
- For any of you out there who don’t believe in Santa, the Polar Express will squash your doubts! Following the narrator’s journey on the magical Christmas train as he stumbles through his beliefs in Santa and begins to make lifetime friends. This movie is a heartwarming must-watch before the end of the ride.
- White Christmas(1954)-
- “I’m dreamin’ of a white Christmas!” White Christmas is a must-watch Christmas movie with two sisters(Judy and Betty Haynes), and their adventures in Pine Tree, Vermont with two best friends(Phil Davis and Bob Wallace). They then go on to save their old pal’s hotel with a riveting holiday performance.
- Christmas with the Kranks(2004)-
- When Blair goes off to college, the Kranks family, for the first time, won’t be together for Christmas and decide to skip the holidays altogether to go on a cruise. Christmas with the Kranks is a must watch Christmas movie as you join them through their Christmas traditions and some last minute frantic plans.
- Frosty the snowman(1969)
- Frosty the snowman has been a classic movie since 1969. It’s not Christmas without following along Karen and Frosty in their journey to the north pole, and their struggle in escaping the clutches of Professor Hinkle.
- Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer(1964)-
- Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight. While Rudolph is sometimes seen as an overplayed Christmas movie, this red nosed misfit will always hold a special place in my heart.
