“Screaming, crying, perfect storms,” I wish I could make the tables turn.
Beginning on March 17, 2023, Taylor Swift didn’t bother to ask the world, “Are you ready for it?” Truthfully we weren’t. No one could have predicted just how groundbreaking the Eras Tour would be.
Throughout her tour Swift traveled over 240,000 miles, playing more than 150 shows, and attending 5 continents, bringing her music to 10.1 million people. “Nothing lasts forever- but this is gonna take me down.” The end of the tour causes me to reflect on all the things Swift has accomplished this past year.
Taylor Swift was named Spotify’s most-played artist, she also became the first person to ever win four “Album of the Year” Grammys. Along with that The Eras Tour is the first tour to ever break the billion-dollar mark. Not only did The Eras Tour break physical records but it also broke emotional ones.
The Eras Tour brought people together. Taylor Swift said to “Make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it” And the whole world obeyed. From friendship bracelets and fan chants all the way to “Taylorgating” The Eras Tour has had a massive cultural impact on the world. Grammy.com calls The Eras Tour “The tour of her generation,”. Which I agree with, but might take a little further and claim it is the tour of all our lifetimes. I believe we will never again bear witness to a music milestone quite like The Eras Tour. Swift’s tour will forever symbolize a significant moment in music history, and help remind fans realize they aren’t ever truly On Their Own.
