With the season coming to an end The Sound of North marching band celebrated with their annual pasta dinner and senior parent run-through on November 8, 2017.

“It’s an event to end our season. It’s mostly for seniors and their parents. We have a pasta dinner and anyone in the family can come. Afterwards the students go out to the field and practice for a little bit then we do a run through of our show while the parents watch.” Senior Danielle Chavez said.

Mostly, the event is a fun showcase for seniors. After a regular run-through of the show the senior swap places with their parents and get to watch their parents struggle to do what they’ve been doing all season.

“The seniors leave and go to the press box and the parents of the seniors come in to do the show for them. But we don’t really prepare for it we just do the show we have been doing our entire season. The seniors parents do have to pay attention just to make sure they know what they are doing.” Chavez says.

This occasion is a big deal for those graduating at the end of the year, it gives them and their parents the opportunity to look back on what they did in the program.

“I mean I am sad that it’s all going to be over soon since marching band has been a part of my life for four years. I am also happy that I was with this program and I have amazing memories to take with me.” Chavez says.
