Anderson Sisters

Anderson+Sisters

Everyone knows the infamous Holly Anderson, 2016 girls golf state champ. Some would do well to remember her sister, Sydney Anderson. Those that know both, surely know Annie Anderson. Following two division one golfers could be tough, but Annie does it with as much grace and compassion as a person could get. There is no envy to be found in the Anderson household.

“I look up to them. They are my sisters and my best friends. They are my go-to source for advice, support, and even if I just need someone to talk to,” sophomore Annie Anderson says.

Naturally, with two older sisters always out on the course, Annie was there as well. She grew to love it, because there was no getting out of this beloved family sport.

“I started playing golf out of family tradition. My older sisters would go to the golf course and since I wanted to be like them, I started wanting to go to hang out with them more. I didn’t really like it at first, but over time I began to love the sport,” Anderson says.

With the influence of her sisters, Annie soon started to enjoy golfing. She is very grateful for what her siblings have taught her.

“Of course, I have two great role models that show me what true hard work, commitment, and dedication can do for someone. I’m extremely proud of them both and wouldn’t have it any other way,” Anderson says.

Both Holly and Sydney now attend Ball State University, but when they are home, Annie always wants to play a round or two with them. They go out on the range at Otter Creek Golf Course, hit golf balls, and help each other out.

“They both just know so much that if I’m not hitting well, and the ball just isn’t going where I want, ten minutes with either of them can fix everything. They are miracle workers,” Anderson says.

Through hard work and commitment, Annie and her sisters have made the game of golf something entertaining to watch. Their scores in freshman and sophomore year are very close in numbers. In the next two years, comparing the Anderson sisters’ scores could be very hard to do. Excitement for the game and love of competition drives them to be the best they can be.
