Facts students need to know about college applications
“We regret to inform you…” Is your greatest fear being denied acceptance to your favorite college? Or being unable to pay for college because of money problems? College applications are due soon. You’ve already missed the early deadlines! Most colleges require early applications due November 1 or November 15 while most regular admissions are due January 1 and March 1.
If you are planning on applying to IU or Purdue, you should know that IU Bloomington has a higher acceptance rate of 78.7% then Purdue. Purdue has an acceptance rate of 59% with an average GPA of admitted applicants was 3.75. The average ACT score was 29 and the average SAT score was 1290. You’ll need at least a mix of A’s and B’s, with more A’s than B’s.
The 2018 ranking of hardest college acceptance puts Stanford University (5.1%) as the hardest college to get into, followed by Harvard University at the top (6%), Yale University (6.3%), and Columbia University (7%). If you were planning on going to one of these colleges, you need to be at the top of your class with high SAT and ACT. You will also need recommendations highlighting you more so than the other applicants.
