As we near the end of the school year, we start to make plans for our summer vacation. Eating ice cream, jumping off the dock, and rock climbing are just a few things freshman Kalissa Gambrel does over the summer. Gambrel attends a Christian camp called Camp Lakeview. It’s located on Lutheran Lake and has over 15 cabins.

“My favorite activity is boating. I get to ride in a kayak and paddle myself.”

At Camp Lakeview there are many activities to participate in. The beginning of the day is for cleaning the cabin but after that the rest of the day would be full of fun and entertaining activities. If you are seven years old or younger, you go with your parents for just a weekend getaway. If you are older, you can choose to go for four days or a whole week.

Senior Emily Waskom is going to a camp called BigStuf. It’s a week long camp in Panama City Beach, FL.

“We have sessions throughout the day and then freetime in the late afternoon. My favorite session is participating in the volleyball tournaments,” Waskom said.

Not only do they have the beach, but they have cannonball competitions. This is where they jump into a pool and see who can make the biggest splash.

“The best part is meeting people from all over the United States.” Waskom said.
