Women’s Golf Sectionals
She twists her body slowly to the side, and then she snaps back to smack the small white ball flying into the air.
The women’s golf team has worked very hard this year to prepare for sectionals.
“The season has gone by really fast as a whole,” sophomore Alexandria Munnicha said. “I’ve shot my personal best for nine holes and eighteen holes this season, and I’m really happy about that.”
The team is scheduled to play Saturday, Sept. 17 at 9:00 a.m.
“Sectionals is going to be at Greensburg Country Club at Greensburg,” Munnicha said. “I know Columbus East, Greensburg, Batesville, Jennings County and others around our region will be there.”
The girls have been practicing for a while, and Munnicha is optimistic about how they will do.
“I think our whole team is capable of doing really well this year. We’re all capable of shooting in the 70s if we focus and work hard,” said Munnicha. “I know last year we did pretty good, but I think we’re even better than last year and hopefully that will reflect how we play at Sectionals.”
When asked about the stigma surrounding the game of golf, Munnicha smiled.
“Honestly I know that everyone says golf is a boring sport, but in my opinion, it’s the hardest sport out there,” Munnicha said. “Although it may not be very physical, the mental part of the game can’t be compared to any other sport.”
