Ping Pong Club

Ping+Pong+Club

According to the International Table Tennis Federation, ping pong was developed in the late 1800’s by British military officers. Recently at North, a club was founded to get students more involved with the sport. Seniors Lucas Huang and Adam Zhuang are in charge of the club. They had more than forty kids show up to the first meeting.

“We had a lot of people show up to our first call out meeting and more people showed up to our first practice,” senior Lucas Huang said. “It’s awesome to see that members of the student body care so much about ping pong.”

Mr. Bradley is the sponsor of the ping pong club.

“We started this club as a way to spread ping pong,” Huang said. “Donner has a club that meets every week and we wanted to make it more local and bring it to the school.”

The club practices 1-2 times a week in the LGI room. There will be a tournament held on Nov. 19 from 1-6 p.m.

“Ping Pong has always been something that I enjoy and I hope that I can get more people to enjoy it,” Huang said.
